Re: damn phone!
turn off your modem for 5 min or so, (unplug the power) that might help
Haha Fuck you Kitteh
Re: damn phone!
If your internet service is over the phone lines, turn off call waiting/forwarding on your phone and if you have a software interface for your ISP access and they provide options to disable those options-turn them off as well.
My old Netzero dialup used to do that until I figured that trick out.

Re: damn phone!
What's a broad band? Isn't that like The Bangles or Bananarama?
Is it DSL or cable? Because DSL uses the regular phone lines for sending/receiving info.

Re: damn phone!
broadband is pretty much anything other than dialup, which is narrowband.
Re: damn phone!
The signals interfere with one another, If I put my cordless phone next to my laptop I cannot connect to the internet. I use wireless broadband, so, I don't know exactly what goes on. I just know, not to do that.

Re: damn phone!
If the internet is going throught the phone jack, you have to have the internet in the First jack in your house, othervise it will blocked out by the phone. With at least 2 phones in the house, will usually 1 go above the second one when you lift it up. You can test it. Pick one up, and if it goes quiet when the second one is picked up, the second one is the jack above - first jack.
Similar things can also happen if you use too many splitters in the same jack. I noted a friend had 4-5 splitters in his jack, and his problems got away by removing a few of them. And if you Do have several splitters, the internet one should go first.
Now I'm not sure if this is a tyoe of setup you use back there, but this is how it looks in sweden.
