carma 3, did you buy it?

Post by codemonkey »

well quite frankly carma 3 gets a lot of slagging witch it quite frankly deserves from that bloody voice screaming "check point!". but when carma 3 came out did you actuhally buy it. or did you read the review and toss it?

It's TDR, not Carma3...

Anyway, I read people's comments, and despite the slagging it got, I still went out and purchased it.

Played it for about a month just to complete it. It got boring far too quickly

Hmm well, I dunno what I was thinking way back in that time, but yeah, I bought the game. Havent played TDR since... a long time. Its probably the last game that I bought for the PC. Its just that I dont play games on the computer too much. I prefer the PS2

I think he means the way the announcer says it in TDR specifically? I'd agree too, quite annoying. He's says "wrrrrrrong checkpoint!" like it's some kind of accomplishment?!!

I never liked the game from the get go..and the alpha test demo that came out way back when only cemented / magnified that feeling (especially disappointing since I was on 56k back then and it took I think 2 weeks to download?!) I did eventually buy it though, saw it in a bargain bin at microplay for $10 a few years ago. And I've played it maybe thrice since?!!

Funny you should mention that, I saw it at wall-mart 2 days ago... it's still $28, wtf.

Never played it, got no reason to.

bought it for €1,50 lol, not worth more imo, the only things i liked about tdr is the offensive pedestrians and that you can actually split a car in half by just crashing into it..those are the only things that c2 misses

c2 handles like a bus driven by a 3yr old on ice, tdr is much more realistic with how a car actualy drives around imo

Yeah, I brought it the week it came out as I was so looking foward to a c2 sequel. Graphically the engine is awesome, it looks so great at high res - something I wish I could play c2 in nowdays. That's about it, the game was just plain boring - nothing like c2 was. Multiplayer was ok but didn't keep my attention long.

Nope. I happen to like the "checkpoint!" doodad. Reminds me of C1.

*Really wants the pratcam back...*

I bought it on internet but :

1 - It's zombies, not peds

2 - It's not as fun as C2 even if the driving sensations are a lot better

I played it a while but came back to C2 very quickly.

Yeah I know about the glidewrapper  My TFT only does 1024x768 which I couldn't get to work with the wrapper. It's not just that though. The aliasin, particle fx, shadows and just general feel is great - shame the cars and gameplay don't live upto it. I was basically hinting that I'd love a c2 style game in the same engine.

Liked C2 very much and bought TDR when it came. Found magazines with reviews in them to read afterwards. Still like the game and play it from time to time. And as many have said earlier - handling have been far better in TDR than C2. Even with changes.

- I really want to test how other have their handling settings so I can test for myself how fucked up they are before I say it out loud

And Yes!! Pratcam must come back! One of the more hilarious things in C1.

I didn't pay a squat.

I got the game for free in a contest at DTD.

I DID pay for the Nosebleed Pack, though!
