That's right it looks really big, I wanted them to be really impressive, like that they really care good their names of Monster Truck :p, but if you look at google image, and search for Monster truck, you'll see some of them are really big and it's really funny when it's the AI which control them haha (the blue one is available on Wasted! and also an other pink one, I don't know if you know that )

Re: Screen Shots
I liked monster trucks when they still used stock, mostly steel bodies... they were sorta sluggish, but at least they were trying to actually crush cars instead of seeing how high they could fly OVER them. Kinda like nascar...I'd probably still never watch it, but it beats tube cages driving around with what look like giant r/c car bodies. :B

Re: Screen Shots
Maybe just a glitch, but it could also be the arrow's bounding box.
Sometimes they can appear normal for most collisions, but little things like this can happen.
I remember at least a couple of my cars doing this when i still used PT2's asc to physics shape for bboxes. Has something to do with the order the points are in.
Since then I've been using Chevy II's ordering...
It's been air-tight, in my experience.
No game-crashing car splitting, either!
Doing the entire Left side in this order first, then reversing das order for the right side:

Re: Screen Shots
The weird 'hollowed out' BBox has happened to me too. I think its the reversing the order that is the key. I'll have to try it out. I'm thinking that doing LBottomFrnt, RBottomFrnt, RTopFrnt, LTopFrnt then LBottomRear, RBottomRear, RTopRear, LTopRear you end up with a BBox that that, if you could see it, looks like this:Econobrick wrote:...then reversing das order for the right side:
But I like the idea of doing sides instead of front to back, for me it seems like it'd make it easier to plan out, especially since I do BBoxes manually.

Re: Screen Shots
I was home sick with the flu so decided to make yet another figure-8 map. I wanted to add peds with mechanics around the track edges and helicopter pad but PT2 keeps crapping out when I try to pre-procees it. It created the map but just closes as it show "Testing 1, 2, 3"

Re: Screen Shots
Looks neat Coffey. To bad the pre-processing didn't work. Perhaps you can strip the track and do a couple of pre-processings to find out what object is causing the error?
Re: Screen Shots
After going back and stripping out all the noncars then adding them back one type at a time and testing, I found it's the helicopter that it chokes on. Which is weird because it's the stock C2 chopper from the carrier missions.
I really want to keep the helicopter, I'll have to try renaming/resaving the chopper to see if that fixes it???

Re: Screen Shots
I had a similar error before where a noncar was basically bigger in dimension than the parts of the track that were preprocessed. You know, the preprocessing cuts the track up in smaller pieces. I think the default division is 16 columns and 16 rows? If your noncar is bigger than any of these parts, the preprocessing will crash because Pt2 cannot decide where to put the noncar in the tracks hierarchy tree...
I think there are two ways around this. Either you lower the preprocessing collumns to 8 or 4. Second option would be to try adding a large plane under the track to enlarge the track pieces after preprocessing.
I bet it will fix things ;)

Re: Screen Shots
I finally got it to process the track. Had to make a new helicopter.
Still had one problem. Had imported helicopter as a noncar, which was fine until it processed.
After that, there was something blocking the middle of the track at 0,0,0.
I just removed the heli from noncar list so it is a solid part of the scenery now. But at least you can drive!

Looks good man! Did you try my suggestions?
Nice detail on the shadow beneath the helicopter

Re: Screen Shots
I wanted to try your suggestion but I don't know how to lower the preprocessing columns. Where do you set that? I didn't see anything on the Process Track dialog screen or on Option screen??

Re: Screen Shots
eh... the options button next to the preprocessing method dropdown box...
or are you using the original plaything2? I am using the VB6 macros build.

Re: Screen Shots
I must be brain dead to have missed that button! Jeez.
Ok, I changed columns to 3x1 so there wouldn't be anything meeting in the center along either axis. I was able to go back and reimport the original chopper that gave me problems AND I was able to set it as a noncar without cause weird blockages along the track!
EDIT: I uploaded a new zip with fix if opponent falls off map. Changed some textures..
@harm Yeah, the chopper shadow will stay where it is - if you manage to move the helicopter.
You can download here

Re: Screen Shots
@Harmalarm: Heh yeah, almost everyday.
Delko told me he's updating all the models (as he showed lately on polycount) and that we might mess around with the old ones.
Not sure a serious C1 port would make these models justice (even though they surprisingly convert well to the C1 palette) but it could be funny. Gives C1 an OutRun feeling.
