What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
I just wanted to know what kind of bands do u think are most enjoyable while playing Carmageddon.
Imagine you could choose one or two bands/interprets for the soundtrack of Carmageddon 4 ...
... which would you prefer?
I like to listen to "Helmet" while playin Carma ... they got the right intense and speed for that, i think. Especially songs from the "Meantime"-album are pretty industrial and fit the gameplay. Those who don't know who the hell i am talkin about should go here
Besides that, another band that rocks while trashing cars would be "Pantera" (i guess all those metal fans here know em well enough ), preferably the "Cowboys from Hell"-record.
Would also be interesting to know which of the former soundtracks is most liked here, so i made a little poll:
<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="http://www.cwaboard.com/ubbthreads/dopoll.php"><INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="pollname" VALUE="1078388958MuscleCarFreak">
Which of the Carmageddon soundtracks is the best ?
<input type="radio" name="option" value="1" />Carmageddon 1: "Fear Factory"
<input type="radio" name="option" value="2" />Carmageddon 2: "Iron Maiden", "Scientique"
<input type="radio" name="option" value="3" />TDR 2000: "Utah Saints", "Plaque"
<INPUT TYPE=Submit NAME=Submit VALUE="Submit vote" class="buttons"></form>
(my opinion: i choose fear factory cause i think that their songs fit the game very well, especially in their instrumental versions, and "Bodyhammer" was one of the first songs that made me addicted to rock )

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
I choose Fear Factory, because I enjoy them more than I do Maiden (Now)... but back in the day, I'd have said Maiden. I can't remember FF in Carmageddon... Mostly because I never owned it, and my mate who did always turned the music off. *shrug*
For 'Carmageddon4' I'd say Prodigy. That's nothing to do with it fitting in with the game (Which it doesn't, to be honest), but because I always used to listen to it when I used to play C2 for fun. Whenever I listen to Prodigy, say "Break And Enter", I can imagine flyin' over the top of the big pyramid in the El Morte Desert, in the "Generally" - Good times.

I agree with da Monkey, especially some of Prodigys early stuff, like 'what evil lurks'
Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
"what evil lurks.. in the hearts of men.."
That's actualy their very first song, you hit the nail right on the head that time n3wt.

Here's a few sutible songs:
AC/DC - Highway To Hell
Metalica - Enter Sandman
Pantea - Revolution Is My Name
Guns'N'Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
And really anything that is heavy and head banging.
1982 Ford Escort Mk3 1.3 L (restoration project)
1990 Nissan Micra K10 L (my first car, currently in long term storage)
1995 Ford Escort Mk6 1.3 CL (current everyday car)

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
I did vote vote for Fear Factory. Iron Maiden is just plain boring and the other stuff is just so wierd.
More stuff that could work pretty good in the game is stuff from:
Testament
Amon Amarth
Ninnuam
Mindfall
2ton Predator
Total Devestation
Children of Bodom and/or Norther ("same shit, diffrent name", almost)
Blind Guardian
I think the band Entombed could work too.
Mostly death metal in that list, hehe.
Not fast stuff. More dark, medium or medium/slow and heavy songs. That's the style whick fit Carma perfekt
Total Devestation's track "Struggling From Chokehold" makes me shiver, in a good way!

Me too man, been a Prodigy fan ever since I was a wee lad. Grew up with their music.
Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
I don't listen to music while I play Carma. I like to hear the smashing and tire screeching and all the sound effects.
Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
Same here.. never listen to music while im playing, Thankfully it can be turned off.
Most music I like wouldnt be accepted/fitting all to well anyways..
"Im gonna drive around killing anything that moves while listening to some depressive music".
Well that would work for me, but I fancy Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Smashing Pumpkins.
Don't really like heavy stuff too much. Or anything too old or too modern for that case.

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
ive always been partial to my FF, but i have to vote for iron maiden/lee whatever-he-was-called, because i just enjoyed playing the game to that more it had more of a car-stereo ambience. The FF st did try (and do a very good job) of reflecting and adding to the ambience of the whole environment, but as i said I just preferred the car-stereo c2 job.
as for the suppose'ed carma4 s/t, I'd like to hear some new talent. I'm sure there are some great unsigned bands just under our radar that can kick out instrumentals with as much power to create and reflect upon a mood as fear factory used to be able to.

Clash - Running over ped's to "Janie Jones" or "Clampdown" creates a nice ambience.
Ramones - High paced music is good for smushin.
Quiet Riot - Always good, just old loud metal.
Motley Crue - Considering the box set is titled "Music To Crash Your Car To" I mean, hey.
Prodigy - Good "Im in the zone" music if you will... pardon the uh..that.
Andrew WK - Fast, Loud, Repetative, goes well with a killing mindset, and "Get Ready To Die", well.
Iron Maiden - Goes without saying, seeing as the soundtrack had em.
Megadeth - Always good, a guitar riff always goes with killin.
Marilyn Manson - The faster paced songs are an excellent sidekick to automotive manslaughter.
Rob Zombie - If it's good enough for dirtbike video's, its good enough for this.
Bootsy Collins - Killing to funk.
Damn straight.

yeah you're right in general, i like Prodigy a lot too, tho i have to say that i prefer listening to them while playing NFS or other games that are rather high-speed than destruction. Destruction is metal in my eyes - or better said - ears.
And to Mustang: i guess "seplatura" is ment to be Sepultura
And what the JabMan listed is something i encountered aswell: It's really cool if even the lyrics start to fit the game!
Like i once listen to Ramones "Go Lil Camaro Go" while drivin AdRs 68 Camaro!
Or RATMs Cypress Hill-cover "How I Could Just Kill A Man"
And then playin the "bruise brothers" mission while listening to Body Counts "Cop Killer" hehe

Which one of you is gonna mention Motörhead?
Oh... that would be me then...
Seriously (?), I'll get a-goin' when Lemmy says I must...
Oh hey! And then one of you can make a bumpersticker skin that says "Orgasmatron brakes for nobody".

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
Fear Factory fits greatly, as well as Maiden but you can add some others (ahh, the goodness of mp3s...)
Metallica (Hey, I'm a long time fan, blame me... )
Iced Earth (I love their music, it's clever, dark, epic, evil...)
Offspring (Some tunes fit the carma style)
Opeth (Death, anyone?)
Rammstein
System of a Down
In Flames
12 Stones
Meshuggah
Stratovarius (Speed Metal!)
DragonForce
Killswitch Engage
Judas Priest (Classic Metal!)
Guns N' Roses
Someone mentioned Blind Guardian... but although I like them, their style isn't exactly fitting for carma... ahh whatever, they are good... tunes like 'Into The Storm' and 'Nightfall' are nice...

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
I thought of another one.
It's a song called "Harleylujah". I don't remember the name of the band (if anyone does, please please let me know), but it's so cool: They have this Harley running stationary, which gives this real steady beat and on this beat they make a hefty bit of rock & roll.
Right in the middle of the song you hear this wee little Suzuki or something screeching and churning and it locks up - silence for a second - Harley merily chugs on, music continues.
But I can't find it anywhere.

I mentioned Blind Guardian earlier. I though of Iced Earth, but felt that it personally wouldn't fit. I'm more into BG than IE.

Marilyn Manson - The faster paced songs are an excellent sidekick to automotive manslaughter.
I like marilyn, I love "Thaeter" from his latest, so its not really a song persay, more of an introduction, but still. Problem is its not long enough.. once the momentum starts up and you wanna smear eye liner all over your face and put on an old 1920's tuxedo and start parading around like hitler the music stops! So I took action and made a 77 minute long version of the song... I burnt it to CD and listen to it on headphones on repeat when I go to sleep at night. Dreams sure are interesting...

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
cannibal corpse would fit lovely (or hatefuly) into carma world
i've got all of Manson's cds but all the once that would fit good into carma (like king kill) are too short
hey how about slipknot?

Re: What would be your prefered Carmageddon-Music ???
Well Blind Guardian even if they have "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" it would not fit in LOTR movie.. So all songs that we proposed are not really good for Carmageddon game IMHO.
Or they may be ok without lyrics..

War - Lowrider
hehe this one makes you wanna cruise :P
Does anyone of you know the band "Exodus" ?
They also got a song called Lowrider, really great to take a cruise with AdRs Lowrider GTO. using the lowrider-power-ups and smashin some Volkswagen
That band really has that Trash-metal flow that fits in Carma aswell, esp. their recently released new album makes you cause hundrets of car wrecks and thousands of ped victims
"All my friends
Own a low rider
Low rider
Is a little higher
Low rider
Drives a little slower
Low rider
Is a little lower
Take a little trip and see
Take a little trip with me"
