Thanks, also had to do a quick update to the file, I couldn't figure out for the life of me why the model appeared darker than other custom peds ive seen and upon digging into plaything2 I found that the materials setting had the "True Color" field a grey color... I set it to white & saved this in plaything2 and it seemed to have fixed the problem.

Also using 3dsmax carmatools exporter. Is there some setup or script window I'm missing that set that "true color" field/flags ect? I can use plaything2 but its annoying having to reset my monitor settings before I launch it in win7.

Ill probably do a better video later and whatnot.

The exporter takes the diffuse color specified in the material editor:

Interesting, I assumed that base diffuse color was ignored on export (as with several other engines ive made stuff for).

I have some more ideas for mods and have been toying around with the idea of custom car & races eventually.

One thing to note upon looking into learning info, I found most of the images and the testmap.zip that i wanted to look at in this thread all broken:

Yes, those image links are dead as they are 2/3 years old and link back to my old site which has been changed to the polygonengineer.com

There isn't much help to be found to be honest. The tools are still in their unfinished state. It's a one mans project and I haven't been able to finish it or write a guide for it for that matter. It does however do most of if not all the essential stuff for modding c2.

If you have any questions about it, just post them on the board. Just post them in the carmatools topic and I will try to help you out. I'm sure tosh will do this also ;)

@tosh: is that windows xp? :eek:

Yeah, rember the time when I was going on about peds? and nobody made them? and way back the only ped mod was the Doom guy? we have come far since then,

So whats next, cars, more peds? also did you model that fully yaself? curius
