C1 to C2 track conversions?

Post by Takeshi666 »

Where the heck are these stored nowadays? I remember every single one of the tracks had been converted at some point, but I'm so out of the loop that I don't even know where to look. I've found some good updated versions rather than straight conversions, but I'm looking for Ring of Fire in particular.

EDIT: change of subject - found the track, but it doesn't work. C2 crashes as soon as I hit "start". :/ I thought it had stopped working because the files had become corrupt, but the brand new install doesn't work either.

They are at toxic-ragers: http://www.toxic-ragers.co.uk/files/carma2/c12c2/maps/
In the upper level you can choose to download the whole thing.

I also did a port of Mayan Mahyem (by night) myself if you're interested [/shameless self-promotion]

Well I could try installing that "noncars" thing that's also there, that might be important :tongue:

Yes, you gotta add the noncars or the tracks go all strange.

In spite of that, the castle tracks from Splat Pack still aren't working for some reason. The game crashes almost as soon as I hit "start". And I did get the Ring of Fire track working, so...

Well, that also needs the noncars the level uses. Did you grab the noncar zip form here: http://www.toxic-ragers.co.uk/files/carma2/c12c2/maps/

Well I did - I got the other tracks to work - but so far that particular theme is the only one that doesn't.

I don't know. Do you get any error messages?
I have Armourgeddon level installed and it works fine for me.

No error message, just a crash to desktop. Same thing with both Knight Riders and Armourgeddon.

I wonder if it could be some kind of a conflict issue.

Or a common missing noncar.....? I have Armourgeddon, except I've also added just about every noncar there is over time...

Yeah, you can test that by opening up Armourgeddon.txt, scroll to the end and find the noncar section:

Code: Select all

find this:

// Non CarObjects
8
80elm.txt
81oak.txt
82Post.txt
85Suit.txt
87Stone.txt
89Lamp.txt
90Chair.txt
91Table.txt

change to:

// Non CarObjects
0
// 80elm.txt
// 81oak.txt
// 82Post.txt
// 85Suit.txt
// 87Stone.txt
// 89Lamp.txt
// 90Chair.txt
// 91Table.txt

That will make the noncars behave as solid objects, but if map works then that means you're missing one of the noncar.txt files.

Of course, make sure you have the Armourgeddon folder installed in the DATA>>RACES folder :smile:

Well, that didn't work either.

I just don't understand what could possibly be wrong with it. :sdead:
