Re: Silver Countslash
Gotta love that teamwork! Long time since you released something tosh, but yeah, looking good as ever.
FatCat, did you model this from scratch? The pointy sharp edges are neat fit for carmageddon. The rear end looks detailed as well. Me like it!

Re: Silver Countslash
That looks perfect in C1
Re: Silver Countslash
so tested it
what can i say - great job as always, cockpit with proper icon, grid icon, menu icon!
looks sharp on max res with software
but not as sharp as i wanted to be, so i launched it on glide with AA and there (due to glide texture bug, same as corvega btw) it became dark wraith - or batmobile, whatever. Looks interesting tho - bit chassis lines got lost because of the whole dark, not shining bodywork
Anyway, thanks for convert Tosh, it looks amazing here, as i predicted

Re: Silver Countslash
Hello! Not Ramraider yet, ...
FRAUD BROKO 2013
Another model by Super FatCat.
Has working suspensions etc. You know the deal.
It's at RR2000. Refresh the page if it doesn't show?!
@ hazardic: I'm a bit surprised by that problem in glide mode, going to check what's going on. Must either come from the dimensions of the pixelmaps or the MAT file being in the old format (less likely). If you have some time you can already try unpacking SKUTTER.PIX, resizing all the pixelmaps to something like 128x128 or 256x256 and repacking.
@ harm: FatCat does everything from scratch yes

Re: Fraud Broko 2013 + Silver Countslash
As always Tosh you make me happy cause yeah! it grooves like a god. never was fond of original broko, but this one i like, it doesn't look so blocky
besides, as always: own bonnet, icons and cockpit
in glide it's more buggy than SC - it's semi-transparent lol. dunno what it is - maybe materials are inverted
about SC - wish i have more time now. anyway i'll try to do what you suggest about SC materials, if you don't be the first

The Fraud Broko looks like the baby of Carmageddon and Interstate '76, very nice.
Hazardic: I seem to recall Tosh saying in IRC or some-such that he doesn't support Glide in C1, can we get confirmation on this?

correct, but as you may notice i didn't ask him to fix glide bugs, just pointed'em out as a result of testingRazor wrote: Hazardic: I seem to recall Tosh saying in IRC or some-such that he doesn't support Glide in C1, can we get confirmation on this?

Re: Fraud Broko 2013 + Silver Countslash
Hello, I've updated both cars' zip files with new pixelmap files specifically for the glide mode
It was indeed the dimensions of the textures that were causing the problems (glide mode really wants powers of 2 and not bigger than 256).
Just replace your SKUTTER.PIX and SBROKO.PIX with the included _GLIDE alternates by renaming the latter into the former.
It is true that I'm not fond of supporting the glide mode as it forces even more limits onto the resources of the game (and I don't like the look of that mode). But if all it takes is resized textures in an alternate pack then I can do it
Gourmet Carmageddon won't support glide at all though, it will even be stripped from any glide-oriented resources. It should feature hires software mode however.

Re: Fraud Broko 2013 + Silver Countslash
Bumping this topic for autopilot's 84 Chevette port:
It was always one of my favourites when I was playing C2 so I ported it to C1 this evening :)
Speaking of favourites I'm trying to do a remake of Deep Blue's Radigator (for C1 as well)
The Chevette is at RR, C1 page. (refresh if needed)

That looks great Tosh, I can't help but feel that it looks more at home in C1 than it does in C2 tbh

Ooh very nice, looks a tad bright though (or is that just me?)

Yes, it's too bright. If I continue with that model, there'll be a lot of texture work to do

Re: Fraud Broko 2013 + Silver Countslash
Heh, it's currently red, pink and orange. :) Still, doesn't look to bad in my opinion. How did FatCat model this? By eye?
The 84 chevette looks good aswell. I just think it is too bad that those window reflections are so extremely bright that they draw all attention to them. But yeah, that is a recurring 'problem' in C1, if you can call it a problem. Still I wouldn't mind changing those reflection materials to a bit more subtle textures...
