WIP: 1994 Chevy Caprice... for C2!!

Yes, it's been a while since my last WIP thread... can't remember what that was... :P

polycount's a little bit over 1300 ATM, without the wheels wich are just for show, took them from the crown vic... gonna go easy on the interior and engine polycount, and use small 64x64 textures for it, at least for C2, that is. Maybe a cop version won't look good on it, so that might turn out for GTA3 instead, but first on my list is the stock version for C2

As for that flame skin suggestion.. BLAH! no way, gotta be a stock skin, leave the silly stuff for the skinners

oh btw AdR.. I was wondering if youd be interested in updated your 97 vic cop car with a driver behind the wheel.. if you still have the original build files that is.. that car should have a driver with it, well all cars should in my opinion! even if you can take a driver from another game.. like the cop from gta3 would be excellent, the driver you put in that voyager from gta3 is excellent and much nicer looking than original c2 drivers, although they are high polied.. but sometimes its worth it!

Hello!! Again!! Actually ages ago Slayer made a an Impala, I think it was a 95. I converted that into a wagon, and painted it dark blue and added wire wheel hubcaps!! It was "the shit"!! It sucked too!

Wow, very nice! I love those body styles where the wheel well is covering part of the wheel. I made one for Midtown Madness 1 and I'd done research on that car. The only years taht had the rear fenders like that were '91/'92 models. '93-'96 models had an exposed wheel well like the Impala.

the best slayer cars IMO are the aries and chevette though!! even though they are really old, and they are godly lo-poly monsters that ive always loved and always will! should update the bounding boxes at least though! which i think i will do now... (also the type 3)

the brown 71 fast back.. its the only type 3 that was done, other than the squareback he made outta it, which went unreleased, but i know you have it!

i updated them 3 cars mentioned with acurate colision boxes and wheel positions.. if anyone might be interested in em i can zip up the 3 cars txt files?!



BTW speaking of wagons.. i saw one hell of a wagon today, I thought it was a volvo from afar but close up i noticed it was a mercedes! (most volvos and mercedes look quite alike actually) dont see a mercedes wagon that often! it was a 3000 model, it had a front end similar to a bmw too, i never saw this car before, has anyone else?! twas quite spiffy!

Thanks Qwerty for the tip, I thought they've changed it in '96... should be a '93 then, no big deal. I'm thinking of making the Impala SS as well. I knew slayer's models, and I have them of course, but they're kinda old. 'bout the wagon... not sure, I might... Alan, I can send you the .max file when it's done if you want to build the wagon yourself

Oh, and radiosity... no, that's brazil r/s 1.1, took less than a min. to make each render.

Almost forgot!! gonna post some update tomorrow if I have the time... worked a little bit more on the chassis and engine details.

hehe... those ol cars from slayer are good... low poly so they run realy smooth... and they are quite nice to look at

Before starting with the interior, I decided to texture the body and most chassis parts, so here's how it looks so far...

The underneath looks bland but I suppose you can't really have much detail, so thats not important.

Does the engine count as interior. Well if it doesn't then...whatever. Could you get a pic of the engine it's quite hard to see.
