well they arent ALL rusty! actually most 80s volkswagens seem to hold up against rust quite well, and i photographed the car myself so those are photo real textures! the car was free of rust and any other foxes ive seen were also! this one had a dent in the left fender and the front bumper was cracked and misplaced, must a had a parking lot mishap! that "autocross" sounds lovely! nothing like a good econobox race!

Hello! I must say, as someone who used to repair these EXACT cars that's a damn nice representation of one of those miserable things! They're alot different than most VWs of the time, they had the engine positioned inline and had a front suspension that was alot like an Audi (bitch to work on). They were only available in 4 and 5 speeds, most had no ac, sunroof or anything! Vers basic yet very stylish cars and ultimately reliable! I'm in the process of making it look the part with rust and whatever other crap looks good(bad) on it.

Heya, Auto. If ya need skins for anything that's marketed in the U.S. I gots a junkyard up the road from where I live-mostly late 70's and 80's and early 90's cars-all makes/models.

I also got a cheesy digital cam that takes pretty good pics in daylight.

There's cars up there that are crushed, mangled, rusted and the occasional burned carcass.

Lemme know what ya need, man. I'll see if'n I c'n find it fer ya

Deep_Blue.. hmm sounds tasty!! I always wanted to do that, but ive got no junkyards around! anyways that sounds excellent, if you just wanna go over there on a cloudy day (bright sunny days are no good for photos to be used as textures I find, doesnt look right!) and photograph just anything you might think would make a good model.. (nothing to over destroyed though).. you model so you know what kinda photos I would need, just the 3 most important... straight on side, back, front photos from the same level as the car. (kneel down or sit down!) I guess you can crawl into the cars also and get in the back seat and put the front seats down and get a good dash photo, as well as the guages. I basically like econo cars 1980 and up! zip all the photos up and send em over sometime!

Right on, Auto. I go to the scrapyard regularly restoring my recently acquired '93 Pontiac Sunbird ragtop. I'll take my camera next time I head over there and steal a buncha beaters

I know all about lighting for curved/reflective surfaces and angles and such. I'll find ya some righteous pics.

I can recall a few of the cars I've seen over there recently that don't have other cars jammed right up next to 'em.

Coupla Ford Taurus wagons that haven't been completely gutted yet and some older Escorts/Lynxs.

An '88 Pontiac LeMans (Missing the hatch-it's on MY car now..

A '91 Pontiac Lemans 4-door

A coupla Chevy Cavaliers from the late 80s-early 90s

An '84 Chrysler LeBaron (red ragtop)

Couple BMWs

A '69 Opel GT

Buncha Nissans (Stanzas, Pulsars, etc.), Toyoyos (Camrys, etc.) and Mitsuhockey square-ish really ugly early 80s people-movers.

Some Dodge Shadows

Dodge Omnis, Plymouth Horizons

Couple Geo Storms (I would really LOVE to see one a those in C2!

A '67 Mercedes of some sort..

Lemme see what photographs good...

I did photograph one before and have the pics somewhere, so I might make that sometime.. the beemers might sound like theyd be interesting also, old bmws are godly, even 70s ones! I love omnis and 80s squarish camry sedans are great.. i know i made one long ago but needless to say it sucked, wouldnt mind re-doing it!
