Possibly coming soon...
Well, there have been more than a few models in recent years that I've started, got fairly far into making...then abandoned. This one could go either way at this point, as I don't get much out of doing this stuff anymore. (Or nothing at all?!) I say this because the "fun" part of this model is already done and all that remains to do is purely tedious crap like the interior and chassis etc...I could just slap it together, but to have the body be this accurate and the rest half-assed doesn't even seem worth it!
Anyway, item in question is the stately 1979 Pontiac LeMANS.
These friggers have been one of my favorite car designs ever....for as long as I can remember, too. And if I could find a 78-81 around here I'd buy it in a heartbeat?!
That's now!

Heh,I figured you'd make one, considering you have one as you avatar over at Tosh's forum.
Re: Possibly coming soon...
I remember that, I think?! Thats turned out to be quite the procrastination project, ive got something incubating (or I guess it miscarried now!).. this is my last build attempt besides a map I had going.. I started working on this in like... gee what year is it now?
Actually I picked up a "new" computrid yesterday, if it doesnt overheat and shut itself down 5 minutes into a game of carmageddon I may even try and build some new stuff (doesnt seem likely, but ya never know?!),

Potential item??? Or somethin'
Re: Possibly coming soon...
/me is big fan of the '47 Ponty. That particular model was called a "Streamliner."
Diggin' that LeMans, Econo. I'd like both of those sittin' in ma lineup.

Re: Possibly coming soon...
That LeMans looks great. I'm disappointed that it's not a 4-door for a Smokey and the Bandit re-enactment. I'd still download it regardless.
Re: Possibly coming soon...
could still make it a smokey and the bandit renactment

Re: Possibly coming soon...
I was thinking of making a 4door when this is done...as they're the same wheelbase (and equally nice!), only the mid section would have to be changed...not too much work I guess.
All of the LeMans' in that movie were 80's...which basically means a slightly different grill and that's all. I certainly have enough pictures to go by to make a 78, 79, 80 or 81...78-80 Grand Am's included, etc

Re: Possibly coming soon...
Heh! This's been going on for a lot longer than I realized...
And it's still hardly any further ahead! I spent a shit-load of time reworking the body of the car. It kinda looked like everything but the nose was too narrow and the sides a tad flat...now it's goody. Although, the difference is isn't very obvious!
On the plus side; the frame, floor pan, trunk space, interior walls and some of the engine bay are in place now.
But still no running gear, engine or any of that crap yet. The thought of it makes me sick, even!

5300 triangles now... apparently, I've lost the ability to make un-bloated heaps of item! Although, I suppose that amount isn't bad for what's there...and some bits could almost certainly be cut in some parts.

Re: Possibly coming soon...
Looks frigging awesome.I feel another awesome item coming up.
Re: Possibly coming soon...
Looks good. If you don't feel like making an engine and running gear, you could probably take the V8 and drivetrain out of my Fairmont and use that. I don't know how well it'd come out of Plaything though.
