Carrying on from the pics posted in the eagle thread, i figured it best to start a new thread for this beast. The direction im going with this is a demon car from hell, pedkiller extreme in the true carma spirit
Just starting the UV mapping now, gonna be a looong process

Very nice, you're a pro.
The front looks like a Buick Riviera.
Well similar shape at least.

Paint it up like Shadow from Twisted Metal 2 and you're golden.
Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
That thing looks awesome! Although with that front end it looks more like a Lincoln/Mercury than a Caddy!
One minor thing though. I know it's a fictional vehicle, but I think the roof looks weird with the rear part humping up near the middle of the roof. Normally it is a gradual curve up from the front windshield:
Those sawblades and spikes on the undercarridge is a nice touch.

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
The hump is more of an ambulance thing
But I think it looks fine on the hearse, makes the roof look more stylized and less boring.

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
I'm so tempted now to make it all hotrod style! Maybe for the post-apocalyptic version eh?
Here's mr. skelly, texture still needs more work though. All wip
Also got the baby steps for the rest of the car's texture all done now too, this lighting is all nice and locked into the texture. I've modified the proportions a bit as well and added all the little details.
I've curbed the huge tailfins a lot and at the same time pushed out the nose about a foot further past the front wheels, to help create the spot in the bodywork to accomodate the indicator. Looks a lot closer to the real car now imo.

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
Thats just so sick, cant wait to see the car texture! I remember Berocs hearse for TDR had a really cool looking skin, the blueish colored rusty one (I wasnt too keen with the bullet holes though!)

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
Very Impressive work. I see that you go for a highpoly design this time? I love it though, real good lookin details; grain cutting thing on the side, blades at the bottom, driver model... I absolutely love that driver model, seeing him sit there behind the wheel... like I said, real impressive work!
If I had modelled this I would probably accept those textures as final What do you plan to add to them?

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
harm - there's still a lot of completely untextured areas, all that's on most of it is the ambient shadow output from max and a colour or something, no real work has been spent on em yet. I dont usually think about what im going to add, i just do things that i think would look good until i reach a point where doing more would be too much (or i get bored ).

Have to agree with Firebirdsown, a set of Slot Mag wheels on the hearse would look class. Just an idea.

Bollocks, TTR - She's gonna be riding on dog dishes and whitewalls just like TTR posted. I had that mental image in my head right from the beginning
Soup- that's a good point, this one is quite postapocalyptic now that you mention it. I'll remove the blood and shit for a standard release too once im done.
Update (big one, not gonna break the forum formatting) -

edit: ingame test, pushing her weight around

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
really cool looks there
I agree with the choice for the tires and rims, good pick. Again, I love the internals of the car, showed the image where you removed the detachables... Red interior, bloody bottom of the car... als good design decisions I think. I'm really looking forward to driving it

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
The blood on the bodywork is too dark IMO, you can't really see it..i mean if it was real and a car was black sprayed with blood, then the blood would be shiney cause it's a fluid..get it where i'm getting at? lol.
Also, you can make the dishes/hubcaps fall off the wheels..well i think it is possible..kinda disremembering everything.

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
^ I'd say it's possible, although they wouldn't rotate with the wheels. Maybe their is a way around this.

If you do not group them with the wheels but later in PT2 link them to the wheels it should be eh.

That would be interesting. The only game I can think of that had removable hubcaps was 'Driver'

Re: '70 Caddy Eldorado Hearse
Toshiba knows a way to do it so i'll be picking his brains when it's time, i always made em with that in mind (there's plenty of axle detail in there waiting to be unhidden when the cap falls off ).
Ingame test successful, ironed out a ton of bugs in the mesh and i've already set up the physics how i want em. Time to finish texturing, add the funks, smashables and grooves then this beast is done!
Might take a while on the texture though, still a ways to go

When you know about the hubcaps, give us the info, cuz I tried to do it on my conversion of the FatCat and when the code was in, the wheels would fly around the car...
