HELLO?? This is one of the best project for C2, FEEDBACK is pretty much very WELCOMED?? 23 hit downloads and just 3 reply's?

Also, it's good to see more reply's so we know it's working grand for anyone that tries it..

SO REPLY

AND it aspires Tosh (and me too) to really make something out of this, you know..so common it's just a few seconds of your time.

yeah, i downloaded it, but i came to the conclusion that it is a self-extracting exe file, which i cannot open under linux

if someone would be so kind to make a RAR or ZIP file available for download i would be in his/her debt

I did reply over at CFe, but anyway, great job. Lot of work putting that together. Nice cleaned up look and feel to the HUD.

now my 2 cents: only a few quibbles,

I like the new sounds, except one - I don't know how to explain it other than a goose honk?

Maybe clean up the races.txt? Is it possible to make an"empty.txt" to point to for the races that aren't there? I made the mistake of clicking on the Phillip Island and got the race.txt not found error.

minor stuff, overall great job. It's nice to have a clean install of the game too!

Even if I'm not really present on the carma scene these times, I try to continue to follow the evolutions.

And I must say that this one was one of those I waited for.

What a job Tosh !

This is really fine !

At each game I find some new imrovements I didn't saw ...

It's really impressive ! And the new sounds give a new dimension to the game !

you gave Carma 2 a new youth !!!

Je suis sur le cul !

Nice work,

I didn´t had too much time to play and check how´s everything,

But it look´s pretty cool, the visual is nice (lights and environment in general)

The skid marks are cool, the water is nice, the barbed-wire fences and the blood are great!

Also, i loved the loading/menu and hud´s

I just think that the fire and the asphalt could change =]

In general it looks really cool

Played it there last night, looks good, however, I have found a few probles with it.

1. The frame rate seems to slow down whenever their is an opponent vehicle on the screen. I've a fairly fast computer, and this never happened with the normal C2 (I'm running under Direct 3D).

2. This morning, when I tried to play the Philip Island track, at the loading screen, the game just crashes without an error message.

Thought I'd let you's know.

It all works fine for me - smooth as anything! Except there's no sound/soundFX at all when I'm on there

I've got Vista Home Premium, if that helps?

Try running Carma2_HW.exe from the C2 main root, Vista doesn't work from out of the launcher. Or well atleast not with the original launcher, this one works for me (Vista Home Premium too) but you can try what i said.

this is for Carma-Life 2 though - it doesn't have a Carma_HW.exe in it's folder [since it's a separate program to C2]; I don't see how they relate to each other.

Normal C2 works just fine, I only have problems with Carma-Life 2's sound

Ok erm..you do know C2Life uses the same exe's to run it? Just the launcher uses a different exe. The hardware exe should still be there or else you couldn't run 3DFX.

Ive somethin to note...

I have a glide for C2, wich makes C2 run at the high rez nicely. Since i installed CL2 C2 stopped running, and says it cant load a text image called "BLANK.PIX"

Also, When i ran CL2 under the glide provided, it seems to keep the 640x460 res, even though i clicked "try high rez". This is rather a dissapointment.

That's why you shouldn't use zakensaks wrapper it's very annoying as you have to actualy install aditional soft to run glide not to mention it can't handle some resolutions(1280x1024) for example.

Use DGVooDoo for it is SUPERIOR!

About the problem of original c2 not runing:

Did you install C2-Life in a separate directory?(if no then you messed up you original c2)

If you did then the glide you installed MIGHT(i say might) have done something to it.

So uninstall all the lgidewrapers you have and download DGVooDoo, extract it somewhere run dgvoodoo setup and configure the glide as you want(make sure to set a needed resolution) then copy glide2x.dll to Carma2/C2-Life directory and run it but make sure to set your desktop resolution to the one you have chosen in glide settings or else you get the infamous mouse stuck in a corner of DOOM error.

If you do that it should work fine in glide.

Alternatively if you are capable of runing your pc on 1280x1024 rez download the attached glide2x.dll to save you from dling DGVooDoo and going trough the config(you will still have to uninstall all other glide wrappers to prevent conflicts)

This works perfectly fine to me i have both C2-Life and Carma 2(3 copies of it) runing with no problems.

Also if your pc lacks the power to run it in high rez there is a trick to make glide work in 640x480 without the need to change your rez all the time!

You set DGVooDoo to 640x480 rez and then go to Carma2/C2-Life dir then click properties on Carma2hw.exe/Beelzebub.exe then go compatability and then tick the "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" click apply. Then when you run Carma2/C2-Life windows will automaticaly switch you to 640x480 so you don't get them ouse bug and when you close c2 it will switch back. Even without higher rez Glide just looks nicier becouse it has some more effects than D3D.

I hope i have helped anyone.

Latest version of zeckenzack's glidewrapper doesn't need any additional software, it runs when installed.

And no, the zeckenzack's one does indeed run 1280x1024, here it does anyway.

DGVoodoo seems the one to need to do alot for to get it working alright, get this do that...zeckenzack's is just easy install, setup and viola.

Yeah, zeckenzack's glidewrapper works just fine for me. DGVoodoo never did. I guess it might depend on your setup and probably your graphics card...

Hi, first i'm sorry to re-up an old thread, but i guess it's unnecessary to open a new thread for that...

Just reinstalled Carmaggedon 2 (found back my old cd), found a way to make it working on macintosh (yeah yeah ^^) by using Macglide library and OS classic on an old 'powerpc'...

If i use this thread, is simply to ask where i could find a new link for the .zip version of the mod CarmaLife, cause the link of filefront is dead.

Another thing, since this mod uses maps that are apparently bigger than original game, i heard the game needs to be patched to v2 (english version) or 1.2 (US version) to make them working properly. There's a little problem though, the mac version has never been supported by developpers after it came out, so we don't have any mac version of the patch... Is there any possiblity to convert the US patch contents (since the game edited for mac was a port of the US version) to a .zip? so i'd be able to install the files manually without any prob'. Would be truly appreciated if someone convert this patch.

Thanks in advance.

I just profit about this message to also thank the person behind the Mac Carpocalypse website who keeps some good old app' for players of this classic game

Keep up the good work !

(please be tolerant about my english language, it's not my common language and i still have some prob' to speak and write it correctly).

Toshiba would be a better person to answer

Here's link to his page with CL2 (halfway down page)

You're trying to get this to work on a Mac? Not sure about that. I think, in addition to changing every graphic in the game, he also changed the carma.exe some. So, Mac version might not be possible.

But if you want to expirement, CL2 is a seperate, new install. You could download it, and then drop copies of your Mac Carma app (mac version of the .exe) into CL2 and see what happens.

If you're just looking for new larger maps, they can be found seperately on Tosh's site.

Mac may not need V2 patch to run these maps.
