Coffey, I just looked at your list, and I was wondering why Slayer's version of the Broko and of the Impaler weren't listed?

I don´t know if its good enough or if someone else is already making the Leadpumper.

I could contribute with this mesh,

Image

its a old mesh and it needs work the polycount is 5142 tris (with the wheels.. the booth, hood and the doors can opened)

So if it fits let me know and i could improve it, if not let it rest

Anyway, good luck on the project

I was talking to AdR about making a contemporary version of the Leadpumper out of a 2-door-ified Chrysler 300C.

But that looks good too.

I really couldn´t care less about that mesh.

The contemporary could look neat at the end,

especially if adr decide to make it

Why is it every time someone does a rendition of the leadpumper, they always make it a 2door? The original one isn't...it's pretty clearly a 4door car.

But I like where you were going with it, Diesely person! I'd prefer something like that to a "modernized" version for sure.

...If I were going to do a version of it, I'd make it from the real car that (I think) resembles the original the closest: a 74-75 Imperial / 76-78 Chrysler New Yorker?!

Image

Image

Not very good pics...but I picked them because the car's black and with thick whitewalls...not unlike vehicle in question?!

in agreeness here, though I kinda like that thing diesel has going, but the 4-door new yorker would take the cup cakes (with creamy filling no less)!

Thanks for the comment, and yes,

the original leadpumper is a four door, no doubts about that.

(It kinda looks a 77 Town car for me)

[image]http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/3259/77tc1qv0.th.jpg" border="0[/image]

When i did that model it wasn´t really meant to be the leadpumper,

it was more like a fantasy car based on a Lincoln Mark V, Pontiac Boneville, Town car and a bit of Caddy.

At the end i didnt had any use for it and just forgot about the model.

Few days ago i found it again and just tought it got some of the leadpumper style and decided to post it.

If i had to re-work the mesh it would turn into a 4 door for sure

diesel, i loved your car, but i think it's too square, maybe you could add more polys on the edges, to make ir smoother, and put that thing that closes the rear wheel (i don't know the name in enlish), and make it detachable.

but i really wants to see that 300c chrysler all black and AO's style, like on c1...

i'm modeling the rear engine for my car now, but i can't find many reference pics on google, i will try www.smcars.net for reference...

and then i will make a new design rear engine for the hawk... i think i'm almost finishing the model, and maybe on next week i start mappinhg it.

ttr, you want the model ? sure, i can send to you the max file, but it's for 3dsmax 5, if you're using max 3, i can send the .3ds file, but you will have to flip some mirrored faces (the ones on the left side)

pm me.

That cop car is the business. It should be interesting when it's finished.

Thanks all.

@TTR - I haven't had much luck with smoothing groups. I've tried applying them before on other projects but I don't see any difference before and after. I'm probably not doing it correctly?

It's kinda hard to tell with the original octagonal wheels, but I don't think

the hubs went all the way to the edge

Way to go Coffey, very nice stuff you're pulling out there. I guess we should take some sort of "artistic license" on such details like those hubcaps, for example, they look a lot better

Started the Cullwing, here's some preview renders:

Image

trying to keep polycount to only what's needed... most detail will be on the texture, anyway.

Cheers!

Heh, when you think about it, most of the original C2 cars aren't really much more detailed than the C1 cars. Especially the buggies like Buzz's that don't have interiors. I'd like to see an updated version myself.
