I just thought this up. Im going to guess no one has tried it yet, since ive never seen it before.
My idea: make the sky an animated texture, if possible, and then modeling puddles, and putting a layer of polys over the whole map for a shine. i would, of course, work on the shine part (lol)
anyone intrested would be a great help in making this a realety.
we would need to get some phisics changes, and some phisical aspects of the map changed.
i also need the map extractor thing so i can work on the maps.

from what @obs told me, its going to be alot more complex, with puddles of water here and there
and glossy effects on buildings to make them appear wet, with some physics
changes like slippery pavement (and maybe even peds with unbrellas? lol.... or at least
rain coats :P)

thats refering to just having rain, theres more to it than just that this time around
were talking about a full blown mod to a level to make it appear like its raining

they still cant get rain and other effects right in real new game engines, so i will be very impressed if anything passable will come of this, infact, ill eat a marmite sandwich (HATE!) if i see something good.

yeah we always have problems with rain in half life over at AKG with rain. we use some entitie called func_precipitation. have a look at it for inspiration if you have hammer.
