What? It's only been several months...

Post by Econobrick »

good day, here some items in der works...

first of all, a car anyone with decent taste can appriciate!?! The stately '89ish Chevy Celebrity..wagon!

Image

almost certainly needs a bit of ironing out..but it is rather early, obviously! It's a bit more detailed than what I'd normally do although it may not look it from the pics. So far it's at...3036 polygons?! hmm, that's a little more than I planned to be at this stage, oh well.

also, old and improved! '87 Cavalier

Image

with considerably more detail added and more accurate proportions (or at least i think so). All that's left to do with this really is to add some 3d chassis bits..maybe engine too but probably not. Oh, and putting the driver back in of course.

From this an 80's sunbird 4door will be made as well (as the brown 2 door i made a couple of years ago now seems pretty shitty by comparison.)

Uncle had one of them, in white... back in the day.

He gave it away to some family...and got a Caravan, what the hell?

This is ridiculous! You are psycothic. You work magic. You can conjure those beauties up on the board like it nothing! What spell do you use? Can I use that too?

Anyway, great work there, I really like the first one. The red one has... Strange iron pipes on the trunk. But still it is in general great. It will make my visits to the CRUD even more worth!

I prefer them as iron pipes... I like to start a figt with people, while I have a iron pipe in my hand. Ah anyway, if I get this car, I would remove the luggage holders for my own use. But thats a useless side note! The cars are fantastic.

Shweeeeet!

We use to have a white Chevy Celebrity(non-wagon). It was the first car I drove, besides the one I used in Car Education.

After we sold our 87 Dodge Ram(I miss that truck) we had a period were we went though a bunch of cars. 80's Chevete, early 80's Oldsmobile 88(still have the hood ordament), the Celebrity, and finaly an 89 two-door Dodge Shadow that we still have.

Oh damn. I was making a Celebrity sedan. Anyways, that looks hella nicer than what I've got (a fender and a door). Welp, more time for other stuff (like a Ciera/Century instead)! Can't wait to see this beast in game!

BTW, I have some decent Celebrity pictures if you're interested.

How do you convert a Milkshape, or rhino model to a carma model ?

I'm modeling a Renault Megane (I did a simple model for the moment) I used CarEd, but it's difficult to edit points when you've got many of them on the same line ...

Using such editors is more easy but how do I do to convert the cars after modeling ?

Thaaaanx

You can also deslect more points if they are in a same line in cared (unless there all on the same place instead on the same line either) then you just go through the points using the points menu in the lower left corner of the component edit

You got 3 ways of converting nowadays thanks to Beroc, 1: DFX2ASC (dfx be converted to asc)

2: Bemax (get it on www.lod3d.net)

3: Obj converter (on www.lod3d.net --need 3d max for that)

I don't use Car Ed...what i do is export the model in milkshape as an .asc, open that in Plaything, and do all the texturing and whatnot in that! (just as Stainless did themselves?!!! although they didn't use milkshape..close enough :P)

Of course, Car Ed can also import .asc files...but for some reason, .asc's made in milkshape don't work in it!

I would like to post my car tonight but, I don't know why, it doesn't work anymore.

I'll fix it when I'll get some time.

You MUST see such an ugly car ...
