Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Yeah, but maybe they'll fit better in the police version (if one day there's one... )
Bleh, got half of the interior done (planning on making it simple, mostly texture work will be involved), and started painting some of the textures... all chrome will be textured (think rust! ), there's also a flame skin -cheap one, btw- I made just to test the alignment

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Oh Man! I love it. You haven't really done anything that sort of old school, so a good change.

Ah well, one old ass cars a start... I was always gunning for the Tucker Torpedo with the swivelling center headlight... still niceness.
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Thanks for the comments y'all, already painted the whole body, as far as exterior goes, only the mirrors and some badges are missing but most of it is done. Gonna keep working on it this weekend (hopefully) before I'll start a new job on monday, so I'll keep you guys updated.
In the meantime, some beauty renders

Looks decent. j/k
Just why are windows pitch black like that, in these images? Can't see the interior at all, which supposedly is there, right?

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Wow I am loving this car. can't wait to see it ingame.
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Sweet! You know, that looks better than the real thing! Are the fender skirts detachable?
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Better than the real thing? I doubt it... detachable fender skirts? for sure!
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
I must say I also love the grayish skin! So I give you 10 out of 10!
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Absolutely! When will it be finished? I mean, you know there isn't something better than perfect, don't you, ADR?
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
anyway, it's been a while without any update, it's just because I started a new job and I don't have my computer at home right now, so it might take longer than expected to finish this one. I've been working a little bit on it anyway, got most of the parts mapped and ready to paint, gotta finish the interior also. I'll keep you guys updated
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Excellent, cant wait to get this one. This is looking like your best so far! Good luck with the new job by the way! Tell them you need a couple of days off to finish this car?
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Thanks! and yeah, that'll be a good idea... or start working on my ol' P2 back at home again
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Damn, I had to dig the board to find this one
Sorry for the delay, been really busy with work and all, I finally got the time to work on this one again. As you can see, I'm making almost every part and texture from scratch, so that takes some extra time... worth it, I guess
Any C&C welcomed, as usual

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
You gonna go all out again and stick an engine in too?
I'm just asking coz I've been using the "even an engine" comment on people who never knew it was possible to add cars to Carma.
Unenlightened fools.

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Thanks for the comments!
@Alan: what's with your comp? doesn't like C2 anymore?
@Evil Blarg: It already has an engine, it's just not mapped yet

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Wow! I still think it looks better than the real car. Those textures are awesome! Planning a driver?
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Yeah c2 is dead, I've got a little post going about it in the technical forum..
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Just a thought seeing the second picture in your new post, will there be a roofless version?
Or have you already posted about doing that? Or was it just to show the inside?
Anyways great job, and I don't really know how you can skin that from scratch, it looks too good!?

@Qwerty: (damn, sure it's easy to type your name ) not sure if I'll add a driver... might just throw in the guy I used for the other cars, but I guess anyone can do that with pt2... I'll see.
@Alan: That sucks man, I've read your post there, hard to tell what's wrong without having your comp in front of me. Good luck with that, though.
@DEMENTOR: There's no such thing as a "roofless" car even convertibles have a roof (j/k), don't remember if there's a convertible of this model, but it was just to show the interior, anyway.
Not my first time with scratch textures (remember the mini, for example), but thanks!
'nuff said, final preview (check attachment, large pic!)

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
sweet, cant wait to drive this one!
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Ah yes convertable, thats the word I was looking for
There's no such thing as a "roofless" car even convertibles have a roof (j/k)
And I think it may look good as a CONVERTABLE it might suit it, not sure. And plus it would get rid of those precious pollys for an FPS boost
Nice engine work there, looking forward to the release.
EDIT: Ahaaa..... no wonder you didn't know it existed, look how many were made. Or better yet how many that are in existence today!

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Only 6 convertibles left of 150... damn! nice finding, though, no wonder I don't remember seeing one of those
Mine's also the "hollywood" version, with a different rooftop and rear tail lights.

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
a litle countering to the there not being roofless cars.
there are roadsters, correct? if im not mistaken they have no roof.

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
I might not be too familiar with older cars, but what are those log-like things on top of the engine? The air filters?
Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
@aob: yeah, just foolin', I know there are roadsters, is just that he put it as another way of categorizing cars... hardtop, convertible, roadster and... "roofless" (that's what the "j/k"=just kidding stands for )
@qwerty: yeah, strange stuff, huh? Those are the air filters alright. From the "twin-H-power", 180hp engine (check attachment).

Re: Fifty-Somethin' - 1953 Hudson Hornet - Calling all carnuts
Btw, did you know that the special thing about the '53 Hudson Hornet was that it has been lower than all comparable cars in those days, which made it look smoother and more sporty? I read that in a us-car magazine lately.
