Scamper this way

Post by autopilot »

Image

So I finally had the interest to start something new, the chosen one being a 1973 Plymouth Scamp.

This old churchy man down the street from me has one of these and I always thought it was sorta neat looking, for a muscle car. But I guess it looks more of a 70s grandma car / grocery getter / 70s econo box when its in its original stock form. I was initially going to do the 3d engine/chass, but thought there is enough high poly stuff killing my machine, so going for the usual flat stuff. Over all I think its looking alright with the low poly count it has, ('round 2300 i think so far)

Last I checked it Needs the hood, dash, steering wheel, a mirror, and of course the driver.

Very well done! My grandma had a '73 Dart (same thing) back when. It was that factory piss yellow and the horn honked every time you turned the wheel to the right.

"we can still make 'em...they'll just be a little steamy."

that is a keen looking vehicle! and it's brown even!

Most vehicles of that era look neat in their family car (i guess you could say) form.

db: heh, that sounds awesome.

Sweet car Autopilot, a sure download once it's released

Only thing I'm not so sure about are the hub caps, they look a bit low-res blurry

(Oh and sorry that I can't post a nice comment without some critics, lol)

To one of you're earlier replies:

Oh its *not* the muscle car I planned to make

:supercrazy: You make a muscle car again? I thought the Fairlane would be a total exception. But as that car was awesome, it would be great to see another muscle car from you!

Lovely car, autopilot!

The driver looks kind of big, toy-man-ish. But I like the car, hits reasonably hard too, and falls apart in very nice ways too

Thanks

What about this? Not that blurry is it?

Btw: The setup you've done on this car is great, Autopilot ... it almost handles like a car from Driver, and that IS a compliment

Thats looking much better, nice!

Ah driver.. havent played that in a long time, I thought maybe I made the handling a little too good.. you know, for a 70's car, but oh well again!

doomandemol: the dart version is quite nice, looks rather attractive in 4 door.. then again I find most cars look better in 4 door for some reason.

Does anyone remember what the 4 door blue car in driver1 was supposed to be? I'd post a photo of it, but I dont have the game installed at the moment. I remember I liked that one. Maybe something I'd like to make possibly, seeing that Im in the mood for the time being

Nope.. I dont even recognize that one to tell you the truth, though it looks like the cadillac, but that was in navy. is that screenshot from the playstation version of driver? Ive only played the PC version.

I found this list though.. its player car 8. No one seems to know what it is, could just be fictional possibly. The pickup truck in that game looks like a nissan from the front, but they take a guess calling it a chevy.

PlayerCarType 0 = Black Buick Skylark (MI)

? PlayerCarType 1 = Light Blue Pickup Truck (SF/Crate)

(Chevy?)

? PlayerCarType 2 = Red Buick Regal (NY)

? PlayerCarType 3 = Black Ford Fairlane (SF)

? PlayerCarType 4 = Blue Dodge Charger/Ford Mustang

(MI/Superfly)

? PlayerCarType 5 = Brown Buick Skylark/GSX? (NA)

? PlayerCarType 6 = Blue Chevy Nova/Chevelle? (NA)

? PlayerCarType 7 = Brown Cadillac Eldorado? (NA)

? PlayerCarType 8 = four door blue sedan ??? (LA)

? PlayerCarType 9 = Green Chevy Nova/Chevelle? (LA)

? PlayerCarType 10 = Black/White Police car (LA) (Dodge

Diplomat?)

? PlayerCarType 11 = White Pontiac Grand Prix? (MI)

? PlayerCarType 12 = Brown Chevy Camaro? (LA)

? PlayerCarType 13 = Yellow Taxi (Chevy Caprice/Monte Carlo?)

(SF)

? PlayerCarType 14 = Blue Cadillac Eldorado? (NY)

? PlayerCarType 15 = Red Jaguar racer (NA)

? PlayerCarType 16 = Light green classic coupe??? (Ford T-

Bird?) (NA)

? PlayerCarType 17 = Gold Jaguar (XJ-6?) sedan (NA)

Yeah, that's from the PSX version. But the games were the same as far as I recall.

How about this car? Looks kind of navy-ish in color.

Thats the fairlane.

I'll install the game again and take a look.

Ok here we go, if anyone wants to take a stab at it, if it is anything keep in mind they mucked up the headlights/tailights/grill to avoid being sued

Tha blue car looks like a late '60s Impala, but I've heard some people call it a Bonneville.

Nice Plymouth. Is it me, or do the reverse lights not work?

No, they do not "work", Did not actually really model the tail lights, I just have the tailights on the bumper tex, to make things easier - so I'd just have to make a seperate "on" texture for braking, laziness - they say!
