With the same motivation behind the whole Carma-Life² project, I'll convert some new peds from other games to Carmageddon 2.
Starting with Half-Life² ofcourse :heh:...
Here's the first :

The Metrocop~
I just have a little thing to fix and it's ready. I'll release it as a little teaser.
And for the rest I guess I'll rebuild a whole new peds pack.
I try to keep the polycount under 1000 ; here it's the 4th LOD of the Metrocop model and it does the job pretty well.

Well I suppose that Max knows she can just send me the files to have a look at what's going on and causing problem.
I already told her 2 or 3 times but she's certainly always busy with constantly new stuff uh ?
[edit] ah ok, misunderstanding indeed~

I think you're misunderstanding me.
What I was trying to say is she'll be so happy and excited about new peds she'll pee her pants

I don't know last time I checked it was ~950 but as I applied meshsmooth on beveled capped gaps on every part, it should have increased to 1500 or so~~~ :errr:
Definitely something I should take some time to optimize lol, this surely won't happen in the peds pack.
BTW, in my last post with "the files" I was talking about the peds you (Coffey and Max) can't get to work.

OMG they look great, the detail on the hands is great.
It would be cool to have them move like they do in HL...

Hoo hoo, nice head crab peds..are you using zombie moans for the sound?
Edit:so you are releasing these outside of the Carm-Life project? I thought you'd keep them under wraps until the release...

Half-Life 2 Zombie for Carmageddon 2

Ahoy ! As I said, it's done today. It comes with new sounds ...
It walks like a zombie too (actually used the 'pissed_ped' move which is similar !).
It's yet higher poly than the Metrocop (it was 1500 polys I think) as it is about 2400 now, so if you have a lowend rig and were already experiencing problems/slowdowns with the Metrocop, pay attention to not spread the Zombie in too much ped groups, etc.
Download here.
-> HL2Zombie.rar
-------------------------------------------------------------------
@ Coffeycup : Yes... Creepy moans :dead: ~
And no, I don't keep stuff like this for Carma-Life 2, I mean they'll ofcourse be included in the final version but so far the CL2 mod is just for 2D enhancement, no 3D stuff yet.
@ Yosemite : The car is my Opel Rekord, it's available at RR2000 and TSS

It was a surprise to hear the HL2 wavs, I guess I was expecting the C2 zombie moans. It gave me a shiver...

These peds are not bad but the Explosive peds powerup doesn't work on them. :( Besides, in purpose to kill it I had to push it with my car and smack it into a wall with high rated speed. Otherwise it just stands up and keep walking.

I think Tosh made them purposely hard to kill.
I plowed through a whole crowd and had to turn around and go back
to finish them off 'cause all I did was knock them down.

When I "ran" them for first time I drove around about 2 minutes but didn't hear anything. I placed all files where they should be but there was nothing to hear from them. Then I decided not to waste my time and just kill them.

Hmmm... I don't remember. But I remember that Windows asked me about overwriting sound files and I clicked "Overwrite All".

Have you actually even read the fucking README included in the archive ?!
It's even popping up/showing automatically when you open the archive.
Everything's written in it... Especially how to install the new sounds.

If there wasn't a SOUND.TXT file in your SOUND folder there wouldn't be any sound at all in your game !
