Re: Wrestling with c1 cars
Well kinda bad news here, I'm stuck on this one stupid thing, trying to make the textures look realistic. I quit GIMP its too complicated now. though I did best with its 2.6 version. anyway the textures, as easy as they seem, they are going to take a while. : (

Re: A question about wheeless\hovering cars in c1
Well that one I got working was a test, it was pretty much a distorted box with a texture and wheels. but I do have something in the works for c1 http://i40.tinypic.com/3169spc.png Its loosely based off the ford escort van, the only thing really slowing me down right now is learning how to mince tog...

Re: A question about wheeless\hovering cars in c1
Sorry to resurrect an old post but, I got my thingie working in c1, how do I make the collision data fit my model? I mean it doesn't dent at all until you hit something at a high speed, then it looks like a crumpled mess of polygons. Also again, sorry for the confusing thread name, it should of been...

Re: Exporting headache
Make sure you have everything set right when you export ASE. There's a 'Map.GIF' that should've come with ASE2ASC that shows what needs to be checked. I get a runtime error if I don't use latest 'ASE2ASC114 fix.exe' If you still have problems send your 3DS to me and assuming it's set up correctly, ...

Re: A question about wheeless\hovering cars in c1
Not to take the nerd mytique off of this, but when I made one of the first hovering cars (Magic 8 Ball from Leadpumper) I simply used carmagedit to replace the wheel textures with index #0 color. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w297/CWRudy/MAGIC8BA_zpsaa68dec0.gif I'm prolly misunderstanding the...

Wrestling with c1 cars
Just for fun I tried to make a square shape without wheels and looked over the c2 car to c1 conversion tutorial as reference.
I actually got the model ingame, it just doesn't move, the other cars can phase through it, and max in the pratcam looks
like he's having a seizure.what should I do?

Re: Exporting headache
Thanks, I figured out a nice strategy,I make the parts in blender.
then I assemble the rest in cared, then skin in plaything.
So far... I can't make car body shapes in blender, I'll scour some tutorials and maybe even buy a book on blender. in the mean time I guess I'll assemble car bodies in cared.

Re: Exporting headache
Well actually I have created cars before in just cared, they were tests though.
Anyway yeah there was tools in bemax that came with a txt and wam, I used those but I messed up somewhere.
Those generic txt and wam files you were offering will probably do the trick.

Re: Exporting headache
Double post alert! Heh... I stumbled into some info on it, I have to import it in 3dsmax2 and export it as a 3ds, then it will transfer as it should in bemax, now I can access it completely in plaything 2...oh one more thing, Savage elve's manual on play thing tells me to open up the sdl file, so I ...

Thanks for the tip on that map.gif. The converter didn't show any fatal errors or crashed, but when I open the file in plaything 2 it doesn't show up...oh also I googled that ase2asc fix, I get "sorry page not found" on his download link in the site.

Exporting headache
I'm trying to put a untextured blender model into cared. My problem is after I export it as 3ds then I go into 3ds max 2 to convert it to ase, and try to use ase2asc, I get a runtime error. also the alternative I tried was bemax, it just gave me one error but when I try to open it in plaything2 or c...

Re: plaything 2 noob trouble
Ok I'll try that instead, as for the error I'm still curious,...just incase I wanted to skin a blank car I made in cared, and put it in plaything2 to skin, will it let me put in a texture if it was in a tiffrgb folder? Like I said before I did make it tif, and have the dimensions mulitples of 8. May...

Re: plaything 2 noob trouble
I'm trying to skin one of the original cars, I'm going to try what you suggested. *edit* Ok something weird happened, I tried to load my tif file with the exact dimensions of 128, and it still said "error loading image file" but when I went into the cared folder ,and loaded a tif from the ...

plaything 2 noob trouble
When I go into materials and make a new material and try to load a tif image 256x256 or even a 128x128 size one, it says "Error loading image file!"
I've read a manual on it, I googled the error, I searched in cwa but I just can't find the fix to this issue.

I tried the compatibility setting,it failed....anyway it seemed to do the same thing on direct 3d...although the new graphics drivers made the picture flicker and some textures disappear. as for my cpu, its a amd athlon xp 3ghz single core. I just may need a thorough f-disk, I don't know what else t...
