So where is wheelspin "Z" button?

That's a comprehensive list, but I have one more to add: when coasting, hitting wheelspin causes a downshift for each press of the button. You can go from 6th gear all the way down to the 1st gear, resulting in severe engine braking (and probably loss of car control because of it).

Questions about some tweaks I'd like to make

You can edit the handling of the vehicles, but you have to do that individually for each one. They are also packed in .TWT files (in Carma2/Data/Cars), so you would have to temporarily extract the contents in order to make any changes.

Tip: now that you are using heavier gravity, you might ...

Questions about some tweaks I'd like to make

If you have the textfiles decrypted already, open Carma2/Data/General.txt, and look for "Default gravity multiplier".

As for the missions, you could edit Carma2/Data/Races.txt to replace them with regular races, but I think it's more convenient to simply skip them by using the SMARTBASTARD ...

Agreed, when hitting him head-on.

Additionally, if you're driving the Countslash, you will probably begin slipping through right underneath him (proper English?) as he gets damaged enough... he either gains some ride height because of the damage somehow, or the lower region of the bbox beco...

Well, large vehicles would just wreck the checkpoints now, the street props can have multiple levels of damage. :-)

Even in the previous games, it would have been possible to make the checkpoints to fall after ramming like any other street prop. Now I'm just waiting for the damn analog controller support. They have the gamepad(s) supported, I'm thinking expanding from that shouldn't require a huge amount of work. :-)

In the meantime I tried JoyToKey, but as I expected, it works like this: as you begin steering with the analog (non-...

Sure they can make their own fictional sounds too; I'm just happy as long as I don't have to listen to that fucking annoying C1 siren for minutes every single time I'm fighting the cops. :P

If necessary, modding to the rescue.

So where is wheelspin "Z" button?

I agree that wheelspin key should return, but like RadiationMutt said, those using analog controller should be able to achieve a similar effect simply by excessive throttle usage, at least as an customizable option. In these cases, perhaps you could also have an option to invert the wheelspin effect...

I too would prefer the siren sounds to have as variance as is reasonable, rather than just the monotonous "wow wow wow wow wow". I think the video above has good examples.

And perhaps the siren sounds could be played at a lower pitch and rate when the source is the Suppressor, and (optional...

I don't know how well the following would work in practise, but they could also experiment with fast and yet reasonably armoured squad cars. These would always come in pairs, and are driven by a bit more advanced AI that usually tries to flank you from both sides, where possible (instead of always c...

Who mods? What's your plans?

Excluding simple changes like tweaking physics settings etc, I will probably get back to making custom maps when I have time for it (hopefully 3dsmax is supported for this ASAP). I'm interested in seeing the improvements in that area, since there were some limitations we run into in C2, and had to w...

Hope you don't mind (more) off-topic, but I hope that wheels, especially large, mostly open wheels such as seen here, will have accurate collision detection - not only with the world, but with the interactive objects as well. That also means they should be able to grip on other vehicles, objects and...

I'm not a programmer, but I tip my hat to Trent.

Also, maybe in a decade or two things will be different. Suggestion for a game

Even though it's not precisely the focus of this thread, the potential connection problems Gore brings up is something I've wondered as well. It's not good if you're tailgating another player, and that player then lags for a split second and is considered completely stationary for that time.

Concept Art Idea - The 'Fourth' Cop Car

I think what you got there already is not bad at all, just a bit of work required. :)

But if you decide to look into Porsches as the base car, I think the 959 model could be worth a look. One more thing. While I too prefer the large APCs in C1 over the normal patrol cars in C2, I always thought that one of the best ways to demonstrate the new damage, physics, and the carnage, would be recreating the "Bruise Brothers" event in Reincarnation, driven with a fast and heavy vehicle, eg. A...

About timer (and afterburner)

What is the general opinion about the presence of the timer?
