Road Reaction 2000 turns 20... (⊙_⊙;)

I joined the CWA on June 8th 20 year ago, probably lurked a bit before, I don't remember. By the end of the month I had started my own Carmageddon fansite: Road Reaction . (woosh) The '2000' bit came later IIRC, because of the first versions being removed by free hosts when I'd go over the ba...

Re: C:MD/C:R Scrapped Content Thread

Great post, interesting stuff ! A bit surprised some of these were cut as they had great gameplay potential, for example kamikaze peds coupled to solid granite peds is a great setup for a trap..! (... + turbo peds  ) At the same time I'm surprised stuff like Huge Car were even on the table,...

Toad+Blue Seven Alright, it was a pain to remap the models properly but I got it all ready in Max, just have scale it then start the setup for TDR. Does it have to be a vehicle, Tosh? Can I not give you the prototype version of Carrier to finish up instead, as I'm far too lazy to finish it? Yes. An...

Re: Carmageddon Revamp Project

I find it brilliant you thought about sharing the same ACT, DAT and MAT files for each coloured Eagle bonnet. No idea why Stainless didn't go with that route. If lookup tables were just a tiny bit more implemented they could even have used them to swap colours between coloured Eagles and only have o...

Didn't go with the alt loading screen as I prefer the one closer to the original Max Damage drawing aspect but the alt ones are a welcomed option.

Considering saving more locally but it could be time consuming. A lot of photobucket and imageshack missing images can actually be fixed by updating the url to the image, might as well save locally then.

Re: Prototype: Carma 2 Car Ports

Gave it a try while I was at it, had to rezip the content to only include the Vehicles folder (and not have it as a subfolder of a C2Cars folder), rename to zz_c2cars.zad and place into the ZAD folder in order to get the cars to load (alongside the Megapack and the Overhaul). Loading with the comman...

Re: Meld Pack Problem

The Meld Pack is a standalone copy of C1 + SP and doesn't require any previous installation of C1 nor the SP. I suppose the steps you listed will make it work anyway and the Meld Pack will overwrite everything else, but yeah not needed. You'll probably want to update ddraw.dll and tweak it to your l...

Re: Meld Pack Problem

Hello and welcome on the CWA board :) This problem comes from the amount of cars installed, that amount generates an overflow while saving data, and that overwrites the difficulty level for that savefile. There's a 'skill save fix' hack available right there: https://www.cwaboard.co.uk/viewtopic.php...

Re: Reflective windows in C2 (as possible)

Well first I'd check the sizes of the texture itself, maybe making it bigger would solve the issue (256x256?). Your example is indeed VERY pixelated. See below for an example of the C1 Eagle in C2 software as is (IIRC, I don't think I had it modified). The other thing is that C1's reflective window ...

Apologies for the late reply, but just in case :
The game being released 10 years ago and not even being owned by Stainless Games anymore, don't expect any kind of update to the game
However I imagine Android/firmware updates might fix global issues affecting old games.

Re: I wonder where the numbers about the wheels are contained

I might be wrong but I think that in the case of this car you'll either have to pitch the whole car downward in PT2 or you must do it manually beforehand within CarEd until the front wheel touches ground. At least this is an easier and safer setup. It's true that you can define the radius of the dri...

Re: Edited yesterday .obj crashes my CarEd today

OBJ files are a text file format so you can just open them with notepad and have a look. They are a very simple 3D format.
I first imported it in 3dsMax 3.1 with Beroc's C2 Editor and it was able to process it until one of the latest objects, so I figured the problem was there.

What a strange issue, never encountered that before. Usually when CarEd crashes it completely empties the file..! It is really important to make regular backups of your OBJ file when working with CarEd ! Anyway, I fixed the issue, see the attached file. CarEd apparently saved a point coordinates fro...
