Good god almighty what a crazy track. I can get up to 700mph on a straight away for a couple minutes and barely cross an inch on the worldmap. The only other thing I can compare it to is the Mad Max 1 track for the ancient freeware Racer X game. I wish I can find that one again. Some guy recreated a...

The closest thing I can remember was a complete recreation of the first Mad Max movie for the free racing sim "Racer". It was huge and done close to scale. That was like 10 years ago, so who the hell knows where it is now.

God I hope they allow mods. I really really hope they don't follow Rebellion with AvP3. They did the first game and you can easily produce some crazy stuff , but their return to the franchise last year has resulted in a handful of godawful hacked together player reskins and nothing else. Everything ...

Not to mention, humans can always be patched in afterwards, whether it be an officially made patch or mod made by fans. You're assuming the game will support mods. In all likelihood it will not. We don't even know if there will be a PC version. However everything I've seen and heard of the game loo...

I recently got back into modding with the re-release of AvP Classic on Steam. After having not modded or even played the game in nearly ten years I felt like it desperately needed a graphical overhaul. Early 3D shooters age badly. This one was no exception. And one about the original Carmageddon - C1 used to occasionally have a bug where a single opponent seemed to remain immobile judging by map image screen, but teleported away if you got close. When it didn't though, you couldn't see jack of his/her vehicle, instead just a flame burning one feet abo...

I scanned that forum earlier and I'm a little confused. Is it a TC for Half Life 2 or somekinda weird Carmageddon/Half Life 2 hybrid graphics upgrade on the Carma 2 engine? If the latter I just don't get the association with HL2 or the need for it.

This post should really be a sticky for anybody coming back to TDR. For years I avoid reinstalling the Carma games because I dread downloading the patches along with hundreds of cars, tracks, and pray it doesn't fuck up forcing me to start again. I finally started posting on random forums shortly after Carma 2 came out, but I was making skins for Carma 1 further back in '97. Went by a couple handles such as "Mad Max" or just plain "Max" but finally stuck with Mad Max RW in around '99 because it was unique and hard to mix up with other people...

Anyway, it's a real shame about Freelancer. I enjoyed the game (with a shit ton of mods), but couldn't get past the lack of a roll while in flight. Freespace 2 will forever be the king of space sims.

That's pretty close. It's called Incubation: Time is Running Out and is part of the Battle Isle series by Blue Byte. One of, if not the best tactical turn based games ever made. The 3d graphics circa 1997 weren't too bad either, especially with a 3dfx card. http://www.bluebyte.net/battleisle-e/produ...

For one, if someone takes a good condition classic muscle car today and chops it up, that guy should be shot on sight. It is definitely better than the Challenger concept, and it is exciting to see an interest in retro. But it's still a bit of a joke. The past is best left in the past. Digging up and butchering classic styles is no way to honor them. The Japs are crushing American auto makers, and they're pulling ev...
