Re: Running C1 using a Glide Wrapper

<t>Another dumb question...<br/> <br/> How do you enable the higher resolution versions with the 3dfx version? Are there high resolution textures in the game? I thought the resolutions were limited to 320x200 and 640x480 due to limitations of the BRender game engine. Does this mean I can change the ...

Re: Imposible to meld

<t>Ok...<br/> <br/> Got most of the melding process to work properly. These files conflict between the two versions:<br/> <br/> CITYBNW3.DAT, CITYBNW3.ACT, CITYB.MAT - files in Splat Pack that appear to be bogus<br/> <br/> CITY.MAT - file in Carma that appears to be bogus<br/> <br/> I rename/delete ...

Two Versions of Carmageddon???

<t>I have two different versions of the MAX PACK. One has only the DOS Version and the other has a Carm95 directory on the Carmageddon Disc. This has a standard Win9x Setup program. One Splat Pack has only the DOS and 3DFX versions and the other disk has the Win9x executable and no Win9x Setup progr...

Re: Odd Version of Carmageddon 2

<t>Ok...<br/> <br/> Must not have been clear about that! The game comes up in single player mode, however when creating a network game, there is no "Carnage Accumulator" game type as there was in the original game. That is the mode that we like to play.<br/> <br/> Using IDA on the executable module ...

Re: "Help the Noob" "MAYDAY" BRender error: Unable to allocate Front Main Screen

You need to use the "-hires" flag...

Also, Carmageddon 1 comes with a Windows 95 version that seems to work fine on my XP SP2 machine...

Odd Version of Carmageddon 2

<t>I just bought a dual jewel pack version of Carmageddon 2 and Crime Killer. These appear to be original and the packed was sealed. The cd does not contain any copy protection and I thought SafeDisc was used.<br/> <br/> The game installs however in network play, there is no carnage accumulator game...

Re: Confirmed C2 Online Release Date

<t>Do you have to use the Glide Wrapper? I'm new to Carmageddon 2 and have been playing Splat Pack over a lan with my friends for years. All of my computers should be able to keep up in software mode at 640x480. The Win95 version of Carmageddon 1 used the software renderer of BRender and is identica...

Re: C1 "Couldn't Find Key Map File" Error

<t>I have two copies of the original Max Pack discs that did not come with the Win95 version so I happened upon a torrent of the ISO files somewhere on the net. I managed to download and burn the images to CD-RW discs and have been using those to get it working on XP. Pretty stable so far however I ...

Re: Running C1 using a Glide Wrapper

<t>Ok...<br/> <br/> Dumb question? Why not use the Win95 version of the program that comes on the disk?<br/> <br/> I've got a WinXP AM2 4200+ X2 that runs that version just fine. Looks identical to the 3dfx Version running on my Win98 AMD 2400+.<br/> <br/> Now, if I could just get the meld patch to ...

Re: Imposible to meld

<t>Ok... I'm gonna hijack this thread... sorta...<br/> <br/> I did the IWANTTOFIDDLE on CARMA and SPLAT prior to doing the copy of the DATA directory and all subdirectories. What happens is that when I start a game, the list of tracks scrolls by really fast and I can only select CARMA tracks. When I...

Splat Pack and Carmageddon Meld Patch Issues

<t>Hi,<br/> <br/> Can't get the meld patch to work in network play. Am using the Win95 version of the program. Also, if I manually change the Opponent.txt file to enable the cheat cars on all of the machines, I get random invalid page fault errors in ddhelp.exe.<br/> <br/> It also seems that once I ...
